History and Mission
The Riverfront Jazz Festival began in 2003 and is held annually on Labor Day Weekend. From the start, the festival has focused on featuring both local jazz talent and nationally acclaimed artists. Beginning in 2007, the festival expanded its mission to include raising funds for
UW–Stevens Point Jazz Program scholarships .
In its first year, the one-day festival attracted nearly 2,000 attendees. In 2005, the fest expanded to a two-day event, drawing more than 3,000 attendees each day and becoming the largest jazz festival in Central Wisconsin within just two years.
